
The Nunatak Raku is one of those ultralighters concepts that just hasn't caught on yet. But if you think about it, why do you carry a insulating jacket, and then a separate sleeping bag? ReplyDeleteGood point, David. I think that you could probably reproduce the insulative value with a warm jacket and warm pants, however, I think there's something to be said for the style of a sleeping bag, allowing for your entire body to share the same insulated tube.
ReplyDeleteBut yes, it's simply for out of the box thinking, I personally won't be spending $600 on a jacket/bag combo anytime soon. Wouldn't be against making one, though ;).
Oh that's real smart. Get your jacket wet and you'll also get your bag wet - in the extreme cold.
